Fluid Structures are an award winning engineering practice that work closely with architects and designers. The company is involved in work ranging from £50k projects all the way up to £100 million commercial schemes. We previously worked with Fluid Structures to source two Associate Directors in order to assist in expanding their growing business.

The ideal candidates for this role were individuals with a strong engineering background, with proven leadership abilities, and considerable experience producing structural engineering solutions, among other requirements.

Woods Hardwick are a multidisciplinary architectural practice who specialise in areas such as commercial and residential architecture and civil engineering. We have worked with Woods Hardwick several times in the past, having conducted civil engineering recruitment projects for them, and are currently in the midst of another.

Swan Housing Association

Swan Housing Association are a housing provider who offer affordable but high-quality homes to buy or rent. They aim to achieve exceptional standards in both design and sustainability in their homes. The business currently operates in East London and Essex, and manages over 11,000 houses.

Swan approached us with the aim of hiring a new Project Director for their business, who would be able to act as the ‘commercial lead’ on large-scale projects. We managed to find the perfect candidate for their role; an individual who was passionate, knowledgeable, and skilful, with over 20 years’ experience in the housing industry.

Our search for this candidate was very targeted and specific to suit the client’s needs and requirements. However we also looked in other industries in order to capture the widest range of targeted candidates possible.

Audley

Audley are a housing company who specialise in providing high-quality retirement homes, properties, and villages for the elderly. Our relationship with Audley began as they were searching for a civil engineering recruitment firm with the view to hiring a new Project Manager. This Project Manager would take responsibility for managing the construction and budget for a number of projects.

The candidate would require strong experience in being responsible for timely delivery of projects, as well as an expansive skillset. We found Audley an ideal candidate who had a strong background in the construction industry. They also had extensive experience working on retirement homes and facilities in their role at the time, as well as in previous roles.

Hallmark Care Homes

Hallmark Care Homes are a provider of award-winning care homes for the elderly. Their service is a relationship-centred approach to care home building and management, with care homes across England and Wales.

Hallmark approached us at Executive Headhunters with the intention of hiring a Director of Estates and Development who could assist them in expanding their business and reputation even further.

The ideal candidate would have accountability for the estates and faculties of all the business’ care homes, including managing, maintaining, and developing them to a high standard.

To achieve the best results, we conducted a highly targeted search. We targeted candidates in related sectors in order to construct a shortlist of candidates who had the right experience and skills required for the role. As a result we found two ideal candidates, one of which was taken on by Hallmark, resulting in another successful headhunt in the civil engineering sector for Executive Headhunters.

Sinclair Knight Merz

Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) were an Australian employee-owned engineering firm who specialised in providing engineering solutions in areas such as buildings, infrastructure, environment, mining, and energy.

The senior management at SKM were looking for a civil engineering recruitment firm who could assist them in finding and hiring a new General Manager. The individual in this role would oversee their Water and Environment function, which was one of the organisation's four business units.

This was a massively important role, as the General Manager would be in control of a department of roughly 1,400 staff. We conducted our search targeting individuals with experience and success in similar roles within the engineering industry, focusing on those who had experience influencing a high number of stakeholders.

As a result of our comprehensive search, we found the perfect individual for the role. Our candidate was, at the time, a Managing Director for a company providing consultancy to the water industry. The chosen individual had a strong engineering background and experience leading a highly-staffed division.

SKM were pleased with the candidate as they also matched their company values, which were very important to them as an employee-owned business, and decided to take them on.
