This marketing case study outlines our experience working with software firm Oppolis. We worked alongside them to source them a talented Marketing Director. Established in 2003, Oppolis are a software business specialising in the production of software aimed at enhancing workflow management for the print and digital publishing industry. Oppolis were looking for a Marketing Director to help spearhead the launch of their new platform; GoProof. The business wanted to find someone with experience in a senior marketing role. They wanted someone with strong experience launching a new subscription-based product.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate needed to be proactive and self-reliant. They needed to have experience managing the marketing for a range of products. these conditions needed to be met in order to be suitable for the position of Marketing Director.

We conducted an extensive executive search with our client’s specific criteria in mind. As a result, we found a Head of Marketing who had recently conducted the marketing for a new subscription based product.

Zinc

Zinc Arts are a charity organisation that specialise in providing a range of creative opportunities targeted at disabled and disadvantaged people in the UK. Zinc run their own arts education facility that aims to help nurture people’s creativity, teach them new skills and enhance employability. This is a valuable service to the community and those in need.

Zinc were going through a period of expansion and development. As such, they were looking to bring in ambitious new senior talent to help facilitate this growth. The business was opening a new facility and was looking to secure new partnerships and increase funding as well as exposure. They wanted to hire a Head of Development and Communications who could drive their business forward.

The Candidate

The chosen candidate would be a major player in the charities expansion. As such candidates were required to have previous experience working in the charity sector. They were also required to have experience in a senior management role. They were also required to have a track record of success in developing fresh opportunities for funding.

This was a marketing-related role with a heavy focus on communication and brand-awareness. As such, strong marketing skills and experience were essential.

The main challenge for this headhunt was finding candidates who possessed all the required skills and experience. We’re devoted to providing our clients with only the most relevant candidates, so we always respect and adhere to client requirements.

The client had previously found the quality of candidate found from job ads to be unsatisfactory. As such, they needed a more thorough recruitment strategy, which we provided.

Al Dawaa

Based in Saudi Arabia, Al Dawaa are a pharmaceutical business involved in retail, wholesale, and manufacturing operations both regionally and internationally. The business specialises in retail and wholesale, and runs over 500 pharmacies across Saudi Arabia. They also specialise in the manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceutical products across their pharmacies, as well as independent businesses and supermarkets.

The business was in a time of steady growth. As such they were looking for an opportunity to expand through new acquisitions and driving new interest within the sector. As a result of this expansion, the business was looking to recruit a new Marketing Director. The candidate in this position would be accounting for the traditional and digital marketing for all brands of the business.

The business were very proud of their story and heritage. Because of this they were looking to bring on a highly talented senior marketer who could help their story continue into the future.

The business had very strong criteria in place for potential candidates to meet. The chosen candidate would be leading the marketing strategies that covered the consumer, trade, and medical services. Our client was looking to hire candidates with extensive experience as a Marketing Director or equivalent in a lead generation or FMCG business

The role was highly strategic. The chosen candidate would be in charge of a team of 12 in a high pressure environment. As such, the ability to strategise and lead under pressure was essential. In addition to essential successful experience in the FMCG sector, candidates were also required to speak both English and Arabic to a high level to facilitate communication.

We always understand the importance of finding the right candidate. As such we took the time to get acquainted with our client’s senior management team. We understood the importance of finding candidates who were a good cultural fit as well as a good technical fit.

This candidate possessed a strong track record working in FMCG and consumer-orientated businesses. Their experience was ideal. They had proven success in growing the market shares of their employer in the Middle East. They had also lead the development and launch of several media campaigns for new products.

Our client’s senior management were very impressed with this candidate. The loyalty and ambition they demonstrated were especially impressive. These core values were deemed to be a perfect match for their business. They were ideal for the role and taken on as Al Dawaa’s new Marketing Director.
